About this event
Mighty Machines at May Half Term is a special outdoor event at Swithens Farm in Rothwell, Leeds, running across the week of the May half term break. It gives children the chance to get up close to a range of working farm equipment, from combine harvesters and vintage and modern tractors to 360 diggers, JCBs, sprayers and fertiliser spreaders.
The machines are working farm equipment rather than static displays, so children can see them in action and get a real sense of how a farm operates. It is the kind of event that tends to go down well with anyone who has ever had a child obsessed with big vehicles, but it works just as well as a general farm day out.
Wear sturdy footwear suitable for a farm environment, bring weather-appropriate clothing and sun protection, and check the Swithens Farm website ahead of your visit for any specific safety guidelines.
