About this place
Alexandra Park is a lovely free-to-visit green space in Stockport, with a good-sized play area at its heart. There are climbing structures to suit a range of ages, and the whole play area is gated off so you don't have to worry about dogs wandering in while the little ones are playing.
The park sits alongside a reservoir with a pond, which makes for a really pleasant short walk with young children. There are plenty of ducks and wildlife to spot, and kids can feed the ducks too. The paths are scooter-friendly, and there's a skate park right next to the play area if you've got older ones who want to roll around on wheels.
The park is open around the clock every day of the week, and the play area has a wheelchair-accessible entrance. There's no permanent café on site, though a pop-up coffee van does appear from time to time.
