The Magic Burrow

The Magic Burrow is a calm, inclusive indoor play space on Market Street in Droylsden, a short walk from the Metrolink stop. It is quite unlike a typical soft play: think fairy lights, warm lighting, soothing nature sounds and a forest-themed atmosphere that feels genuinely magical rather than loud and chaotic. There are multiple rooms to wander through, including a sensory room, a messy crafts room and an upstairs play area, plus toys, books, puppets and games throughout.

Craft sessions are a big part of what makes a visit here special. Children can make bracelets, do painting, and take part in other hands-on activities, with snacks and drinks available to buy on site. Staff are warm, attentive and experienced with children who need a little extra support, so if you have a neurodivergent child or one who finds busier environments tricky, this is genuinely worth knowing about. The space has been put together with SEN in mind, from the securely locked entrance to the lower capacity and gentle sensory environment.

The venue is open Tuesday to Saturday, with sessions running from 10am, and is closed on Sundays and Mondays. There is no strict age limit: babies, toddlers, older children and even teenagers are all welcome here. A loyalty card scheme and sibling discounts are available, and private hire is on offer for birthday parties and other celebrations. Adults-only craft and social evenings also run periodically if you fancy a night out yourself.
