About this place
Vue Manchester Printworks is a big, brilliant cinema right in the heart of the city, inside The Printworks complex. With 20 screens and seating for almost 2,000 people, it's one of the largest cinemas in the North, and it's home to one of the biggest IMAX screens in Europe. Alongside standard 2D and 3D showings, you get 4K picture quality, Dolby Surround Sound, and laser projection, so the picture and audio are genuinely impressive.
Every seat outside the IMAX is a Lux recliner, complete with its own food table, so you can properly settle in. If you want to go all out, the Ultra Lux upgrade gets you wider seats, extra legroom, and a back and legs that recline independently. It's a proper treat for a family film night. The screens are spread across multiple floors, with escalators and a lift available, so it's accessible for pushchairs and wheelchair users alike, with 50 dedicated wheelchair spaces across the venue.
For families specifically, Vue runs Mighty Mornings and Big Shorts kids' screenings, and there are autism-friendly screenings too. The programme covers the latest blockbusters and children's films as well as Big Screen Events like concerts, opera, and theatre. The screening schedule updates every Tuesday for the following week, so it's worth checking back regularly to plan ahead.
The cinema is open from 10am on weekdays and 9am at weekends, running through to midnight each day. It's well connected by public transport, with Shudehill interchange right next to The Printworks and Victoria station close by.
