Swan & Cygnet

The Swan & Cygnet is a sizeable Marston's pub and restaurant on Denby Dale Road, sitting directly opposite Pugneys Country Park. It's a handy stop whether you've been out on the lake or are coming off Junction 39 of the M1, and the kitchen serves everything from a traditional carvery and Sunday roast to pub classics and lighter bites. Food is served Monday to Saturday from 11:30am until 9pm, and on Sundays until 8pm.

Inside, the team are known for being accommodating with families, including being willing to rearrange table sizes at short notice. There's a quieter corner seating option that has worked well for families with children who need a calmer environment, and ordering via the app at your table is available if that suits you better. Dogs are welcome in the bar area too.

The pub has a beer garden for when the weather is kind, and the whole building has wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking, toilets and seating. It's open every day from 11am until 11pm. You can also download the Marston's Pub App to keep track of deals, events and the order-and-pay function.
