Contact

Seacroft Forest Garden is a community-run green space where volunteers are transforming what was once wasteland into a working fruit and vegetable garden. It's a peaceful spot to spend time with the kids, pick fresh produce, and get involved in the growing process if you fancy it.

The garden hosts regular volunteer sessions every other Sunday morning, and there's a real sense of community here. Reviews consistently mention how welcoming it is, with no pressure to commit to regular visits. Throughout the year there are family activities on offer, including apple juicing at Halloween, Christmas lights in December, and Easter egg hunts. The space features fruit trees, perennial vegetable beds, willow arches and sheltered domes, all created through the efforts of local volunteers and Climate Action Seacroft.

It's a quieter spot to escape with nature and relax, though worth knowing that the site isn't accessible by wheelchair or pushchair. You'll need to use the ginnel (alleyway) between South Parkway and St James Approach to get in. There's free parking in the laybys on South Parkway, and it's a 10-minute walk to Key Fisheries if you fancy grabbing some food nearby.
