Scalakids Drama Classes

Scalakids School of Performing Arts has been running for over 50 years, founded by principal Lynne Walker, and offers drama classes for children aged 3 through to young adults at Greenacre Hall in Rawdon.

The drama workshops cover a wide range of styles, including theatre and TV techniques, script work, mime, physical theatre and improvisation, so there is plenty of variety to keep things interesting week to week. The school also has a casting agency with a national reputation, and a number of Scalakids students have gone on to appear in feature films, TV programmes and commercials, including roles in Emmerdale, CBBC's The Dumping Ground, and Channel 5's All Creatures Great and Small.

That said, the classes are equally suited to children who are there purely for the fun of it, with no pressure to pursue a professional route.

If you want to try before you commit, new children can attend a free taster lesson, or an audition session for older children, where they simply join in with the class as normal and get a feel for things.
