About this activity

Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts Leeds East is a weekend performing arts school offering comprehensive training across three modules: Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre, and Film & Television. The Main Academy programme runs for three hours every Saturday, with students spending one hour in each discipline under the guidance of industry professionals and experienced teachers. Children and young people develop performance skills, confidence and resilience through a blend of acting, singing, dancing, improvisation, scriptwriting, filmmaking and stagecraft.

The academy provides real-world performance opportunities, including West End theatre shows and film festival projects, alongside in-house training. With a focus on celebrating individuality and creating a safe, welcoming environment, PQA Leeds East helps young performers explore different creative pathways and discover where their talents lie. For younger children aged 4-6, the Poppets programme offers 90-minute sessions introducing singing, dancing and acting fundamentals.
