Torii Karate Classes

Torii Karate Leeds runs children's karate classes. Classes cover martial arts techniques alongside self-discipline, respect, and physical fitness, with children progressing through the coloured belt system at their own pace.

The club is led by experienced instructors, including Chief Instructor Remi Jurgilaitis, a 3rd Dan JKS black belt and international champion, and Assistant Instructor Eilidh Owens, a 2nd Dan JKS black belt and multiple-time national team kata champion who won silver at the 2024 JKS World Championships in Japan.

That level of expertise means children are learning from coaches who genuinely know their stuff, whether your child is a complete beginner or has some experience already. Training follows WKF standards, so for children who develop a passion for competition, there is a clear pathway towards Olympic-style karate.

That said, the club welcomes all abilities, and plenty of children simply come for the confidence, fitness, and focus that karate builds over time.

Torii offers a free trial class, which is a great low-pressure way to see whether your child takes to it before committing to a membership.
