Drama Classes

Drama Kids is a weekly drama class for children aged 5 to 18, sessions are held at St Mary's Church Hall on Church Lane in Garforth- and they also have multiple locations across Leeds. Classes are split by age group, covering Lower Primary (5-8 years), Upper Primary (9-11 years), and Youth Theatre (12-18 years), so sessions are always pitched at the right level for your child. The classes are led by Caryn Walton-Binns, who has been with Drama Kids York for 18 years and still teaches seven classes a week herself.

The focus is on building real-world communication skills and confidence through drama, rather than purely on performance or putting on a show, so it suits children who are shy just as much as those who love the spotlight. As well as core drama work, the programme includes things like stage combat (non-contact) and work inspired by studios such as Aardman Animations, which gives it a bit more variety than a standard drama club.
