About this event
Looking for a friendly way to meet other mums while getting out of the house? Join The Safe Mum Space for their free weekly Greenway Walk every Monday morning in Cleckheaton.
The group meets at 10am and enjoys a relaxed walk along the Greenway, offering a chance to get some fresh air, enjoy gentle exercise and chat with other local mums in a welcoming, supportive environment. Mums are welcome to attend with children of any age or on their own.
Many mums attend solo for the first time, so if you're feeling nervous, you're not alone. The group is friendly and inclusive, and organiser George is happy to chat beforehand if that would help you feel more comfortable.
Frequently Asked Questions
When and where do we meet?
Every Monday at 10am in Tesco Cleckheaton car park, near the entrance to the Greenway.
Who can attend?
All mums are welcome, whether you bring your children or attend on your own.
How much does it cost?
The walks are completely free to attend. Occasionally the group may stop at the Greenway Café. If you use the café's facilities, such as the toilets or seating area, please consider making a purchase.
How long are the walks?
Walks usually last around two hours, returning by approximately 12pm. Routes vary each week depending on who attends. The longest route reaches the Greenway Café, approximately 1.4 miles away, making the full return walk around 2.8 miles.
Where can I park?
Parking is available at Tesco Cleckheaton for up to two hours. Please note that the car park is monitored by cameras and you may receive a fine if you exceed the time limit.
There are also large public car parks on Crown Street and Bradford Road in Cleckheaton. Both offer free parking for the first two hours, with charges applying after that. You can pay at the machine or via your smartphone if needed.
Important: You must still obtain a parking ticket, even if you are only using the free parking period. Failure to display or obtain a valid ticket may result in a fine.
I'm nervous about coming on my own. What should I do?
Many mums attend alone for their first visit. If you'd like, you can contact George before the walk to arrange a chat or meet up before joining the group.
Come along for a relaxed morning of fresh air, conversation and community with other local mums.
