About this event

The Great British Food Festival takes over the grounds of Harewood House across the May Bank Holiday weekend (23–25 May 2026), bringing together regional producers, artisan food makers, and street food traders in one of Yorkshire's most striking historic settings. It's a proper celebration of British food and drink, spread across three days in the open air.

Expect a good mix of food stalls, live cookery demonstrations, and family-friendly activities running throughout the weekend. It's the kind of event where you can graze your way around, pick up something new from a local producer, and still keep the children entertained at the same time.

Toilets are available on site, so you won't need to worry about the basics. The event is entirely outdoors, so it's worth dressing for the weather and bringing layers if the forecast looks uncertain for late May.

Here’s what’s in store:

Top tips

  • Arrive early on the Saturday as it tends to be the busiest day of the three.
  • Wear layers and bring a waterproof, the grounds are beautiful but very exposed.
  • Pushchair-friendly grounds, but sturdy wheels help on the grass between stalls.
  • Parking is on site, so factor in a few extra minutes to walk from the car park.
  • Bring cash as well as cards, smaller artisan stalls may not take contactless.
  • Make a lap of all the stalls before buying, so you don't miss a hidden gem.
