About this event
The Gildersome Scarecrow Festival returns for a full day of family fun, community spirit and creative displays. Wander around the village following the scarecrow trail, discover imaginative creations made by local residents and cast your vote for your favourite scarecrow.
Pick up a festival brochure to access the trail map, event timetable, voting slip and a family-friendly letters competition, with the chance to win cinema tickets. Along the way, enjoy a packed programme of live entertainment including brass bands, maypole dancing, live music, puppetry, choir performances and storytelling sessions.
There will be plenty to keep children entertained throughout the day, including animal petting areas, fairground rides, face painting and a giant caterpillar digger photo opportunity. Visitors can also enjoy a range of refreshments, from barbecue favourites to cakes, sweet treats and drinks.
Whether you're taking part in the trail, enjoying the entertainment or simply soaking up the atmosphere, the Scarecrow Festival offers a fantastic day out for families of all ages.
