The Baby & Me Hub is a welcoming play cafe designed specifically for babies and young children, run by Beth and her lovely team. The space features beautiful sensory rooms filled with lights, textures, toys, mirrors and interactive features like sequin walls that engage babies and toddlers. It's an intimate, safe environment where new parents can feel comfortable exploring at their own pace, with staff who genuinely make you feel welcomed whether you're visiting solo or with friends.

Beyond play, the hub is a real community space where parents connect with others in similar situations. The cafe serves proper coffee and homemade cakes for adults while little ones enjoy the sensory exploration. Regular themed sessions and special events (like Bluey play days and first birthday parties) keep things fresh and fun, and the rooms are thoughtfully updated with the seasons. Parents consistently describe it as a sanctuary during those early months, and many families keep coming back week after week.

What to bring

  • A nappy bag with nappies, wipes and a change of clothes
  • Bottles or nursing supplies if needed
  • Snacks and drinks for you (the cafe has excellent coffee and cakes, but bring extras if your child has specific dietary needs)
  • Any comfort items your baby enjoys, such as a favourite toy or blanket
  • A camera or phone if you'd like to capture memories of your little one exploring the sensory rooms

Top tips

  • Arrive early in the session to help your baby settle into the space without it feeling too busy, and to grab a decent spot in the sensory rooms
  • Chat with Beth or the staff about what's on during your visit - they regularly update the rooms for themes and events, so there's often something new to explore
  • Don't rush off after the session ends; parents often stay for a chat and coffee, which is really where the community connection happens
  • If you're nervous about visiting solo, go for it anyway - this is genuinely one of the most welcoming spaces for new parents, and you'll likely meet other parents in the same boat
  • Book ahead for special events and parties; the themed sessions (like Bluey play days) are popular and add variety to regular visits
