About this place

Bolling Hall is a grand historic manor house on the outskirts of Bradford, filled with period furniture and artefacts that trace the area's history across the centuries. The hall has connections to the English Civil War, and the rooms are dressed to reflect different eras, giving a real sense of stepping back in time. It is part of Bradford District Museums and Galleries, and entry is free, though donations of around £3 are welcomed to help with the upkeep of the building.

There is plenty to keep children occupied, including period costumes they can try on to get into character, and information boards throughout the significant rooms. The staff are knowledgeable and happy to share stories about the house. One room in particular has a reputation for being haunted, which tends to go down well with older children and curious adults alike.

The hall is open Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 4pm, and Saturday to Sunday from 11am to 4pm, and is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. There is free car parking on site, and the building has a wheelchair-accessible entrance, accessible parking, and accessible toilets. A café can be found just up the road inside the park entrance.
