Book on provider's websiteWater Babies at Temple Moor High School offers structured swimming lessons for babies and young children from birth through to age 4 and beyond. Classes are tailored to each age group, with babies starting in Team Pearl (0-1 years) and progressing through teams designed around their developmental stage.
Each session lasts 30 minutes and focuses on building water confidence, water safety awareness, and fundamental swimming skills through play-based activities. You will be in the water with your child throughout the lesson, supported by a highly qualified instructor (all Water Babies teachers hold SWIM England SEQ Level 3 qualifications).
Classes are kept to a maximum of 10 babies, ensuring your child receives individualised attention as they develop at their own pace. The pool is heated to at least 29°C (32°C for babies under 12 weeks), creating a warm, comfortable environment for young swimmers. Water Babies uses a research-backed curriculum that incorporates the natural laryngeal reflex in babies to introduce water safety skills confidently and safely.

- Happy Nappy system (paper or reusable swim nappy plus approved neoprene Happy Nappy cover)
- Towel to keep your baby warm after the lesson
- Changing mat (small roll-up mat for safe floor changing)
- Warm hat to help retain heat on the journey home
- Wetsuit if your baby is sensitive to the cold
