Join Yorkshire's Ms Rachel for a morning of dance and movement at Oakwell Hall Country Park. This special event brings together families for an hour of fun, designed to get children moving, laughing and enjoying music in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Whether your little one is a confident dancer or just wants to have a wiggle, this is a relaxed, inclusive session where everyone can join in at their own pace.
The event is organised by Oakwell Hall Country Park, Yorkshire's Ms Rachel, and Batley and Birstall Pride, creating a celebration of community and family fun. It takes place on Sunday 19th April 2026 at 10:30am at the Oakwell Hall Visitor Centre. Tickets are £6 per child, and the country park setting means you can explore the grounds before or after the session if you fancy making a morning of it.
What to bring
- Comfortable clothes and trainers or soft shoes for dancing
- A water bottle or juice for your child (and yourself)
- A light layer or cardigan in case you're sitting watching or if it gets cool
- A small bag for storing shoes or belongings during the session
- Sun cream if it's a sunny day, as there may be outdoor elements
Top tips
- Arrive a few minutes early so your child can settle in and get used to the space before the music starts
- Let your child know it's okay to dance however they want, sit and watch, or do a mixture of both. Ms Rachel's sessions are really inclusive
- The venue is in a country park, so consider arriving early to park and have a little explore with the kids beforehand
- Bring a friend along if your child is shy about dancing with adults. It's often more fun and less intimidating with a playmate
