Summer Holidays: Plant Power!

This summer, Temple Newsam House is blooming with family fun as Plant Power! takes over the house, gardens and Home Farm.

Children can explore a whole host of interactive, plant-themed activities designed to inspire curiosity and creativity. Follow a colourful plant-spotting trail through the historic house, searching for hidden clues while discovering fascinating facts about flowers, trees and plants.

Get creative with a variety of self-led craft activities, including making paper flowers, leafy crowns and fun plant-inspired boppers to wear as you explore. Budding gardeners can examine real seeds, leaves and flowers under magnifiers, learn how plants have been used throughout history and even create their own 3D still life artwork inspired by Temple Newsam's collections.

🧱 Design and build a LEGO garden on selected dates

🎨 Join special artist-led workshops throughout the holidays

🐝 Discover how plants support wildlife on the Home Farm and explore the estate's new wildflower meadows that help butterflies, bees and other pollinators thrive.
