Jump Start Maths

Jump Start Maths offers fun, play-based classes for children aged 2 to 5 years old, designed to help them discover the joy of maths and feel confident and ready for school. Led by qualified early years and maths specialists, each session blends movement, music and hands-on exploration to develop early maths understanding, problem-solving skills and confidence. Children explore number sense, shapes, measures and patterns through story, games and active play rather than traditional learning methods.

Classes are held in community settings across West Yorkshire, with regular sessions running on Tuesdays in Roberttown (Kirklees) and Wednesdays in Brighouse (Calderdale). The sessions include time for independent play and provide a supportive environment where both children and parents can relax and enjoy learning together.

Families can continue the learning at home using Jump Start Maths Kits, which contain playful resources and ideas to support early learning beyond the class.
